VB post season projections…

Updated bracket projections out yesterday on VolleyTalk, after our tough weekend in the Magnolia State.
Nothing unexpected here:
Mizzou drops to a 7 seed, projected to play Northern Iowa in the first round and then 2 seed Creighton in round 2 (who swept us 3-0 early in the year).
Our metrics are decent, deserving of at least a 7 seed, we are a lock for the NCAA tourney:
1-5 against the RPI top 25
6-0 against 26-50
RPI rank 23 (which suggests a 6 seed)
KPI rank of 20 (suggesting low 5, high 6)
I think it’s really important to get up to a 6 seed, or maybe even a 5 seed, and play a team in the second round more like ASU, Purdue, Kansas, Baylor, Utah, Oregon (projected non SEC 3 and 4 seeds).
To get to even a 6 seed, we need to upset Kentucky tomorrow. I don’t think a close loss to them and a win over Auburn on Saturday (who has dropped out of the top 50 RPI, barely, at 53), is enough to do it. But our RPI rank should improve with our last two opponents, so there’s always a chance.
