and you think *he* was screwed?
It would've been nice if Gates could've retained Tonje at MU, but clearly he made the right decision by leaving when you look at how much he's thriving under his new coach – Greg Gard at Wisconsin.
Gard (who was hired based on merit rather than DEI) has a *lower salary* than Gates does... which is just remarkable. I mean, He's taken Wisconsin to multiple Sweet 16's.
