Talking to two cops yesterday and the subject came up of Jean Peter Baker's replacement, who is going to be another Kim Gardner.
Said to avoid JPB they had a case where a felon was in their jurisdiction and armed with a firearm. Asked him if he was a felon and his answer was "only in Tennessee". He didn't believe his felon status carried across state lines. So they arrest him for felon in possession of a firearm and refer the case to the US ADA. "Do you have any other criminal charges?" No, he was stopped for suspicious activity on a college campus. The ADA wouldn't file the gun charge alone.
So they reached out to Tennessee. Turns out he was restricted from leaving the state because of other charges/upcoming trial. They wanted him back and the gun charges just added to his case.
So any of the libtards who want more gun laws can consider this when ADA's won't enforce existing laws.
