I think Indiana's margin of victory is a major factor to me

They've walloped nearly everyone.

There have been some Big 12 teams that did similar stuff like (1998) Kansas State and (2007) Kansas. They played fairly weak schedules... but usually won by large margins.

Ultimately, they both proved they belonged in the conversations for legit top 5 team that year.

I do think Mizzou could easily be 10-0 or 9-1 with Indiana's schedule this year... but they wouldn't be winning as impressively as Indiana is.
