You would think we would win this game handily. SLU was picked to finish 7th in the 15 team Atlantic 10 conference. So far they are 2-2 on the season, losing to Drake by 25 points and to Southern Indiana by 12, and beating S. Dakota St by 2 in OT and Illinois St by 7.
They have one really good player, Kennedy, who is averaging 20 ppg, if we can shut her down it’s hard to see how we could lose.
Hopefully this will be the kind of game where the reserves can get a lot of playing time. But it wouldn’t shock me to see a relatively close game either.
SLU had a great story last season, giving hope to all semi crappy teams getting ready to mail in the end of the season. They were 11-17, then won their last 3 regular season games, then won twice in the A10 tourney before getting knocked out. Sitting at 16-18, they got a bid to the WNIT (thought you needed a winning record for that), and proceeded to run off 6 wins in a row to win the tourney, and finish at 22-18.
