Suppose that during their vacation, a violent gang of people occupy the home commit crimes including rape and murder in the wealthy neighborhood and destroy much of the value of the property.

When the owners return, should they offer the criminals a, "path to residency" or should they throw them out and have them put in prison? Keep in mind, that putting them in prison might separate families.
