So when does Schreacke start?…

It’s dangerous to make too many conclusions after just 5 games against a really awful schedule. But it’s all we have to go on. Abby is clearly one of the best 5 players on the team right now just performance wise.
First 3 games we went with the same starting lineup: Slaughter, Randle, Judd, Wilson, Angel N.
4th game Kroenke replaced Wilson in the starting lineup and also started in game 5 Friday night against WIU.
In the WIU game Wilson was back in the starting lineup replacing a struggling Judd.
Some thoughts:
Need to start the following 4 players consistently: Slaughter, Randle, Schreacke, Kroenke. They’ve earned it.
The 5th starter could be Angel N or Wilson, doesn’t really matter, depending on whether we want to start out a little bigger, or a little faster. Ideally when Judd comes out of her offensive struggles she should be the 5th starter.
Kroenke needs to be in the starting lineup. She’s the glue that holds the team together, does everything well. 7 assists and just 1 turnover against WIU. But if this team is going to be more successful it would be a bonus if she could chip in with 8-10 points a game, which she’s capable of.
Bring Judd in off the bench. For now. She’s one of my favorite players but she’s just struggling now. You can bite your tongue and tolerate her turnovers as long as she’s scoring and rebounding. But she’s shooting 32% from the field, 28% from 3s, with a team leading 20 turnovers (4 per game). Right now she’s more valuable coming off the bench and providing some offensive spark and hitting the boards. Assuming she’s going to shoot her way out of the slump.
Need to have someone else (or two, or three) step up and hit 3s. Judd of course is most capable of doing that. Who else can step up there?
Slaughter and Schreacke are a combined 27-50 from the 3 point line, 54%. The rest of the team is a combined 7-33, 21%. When we start playing bigger and more talented and more athletic teams (like, say, the entire SEC conference), we need to have more players hitting 3s because other teams are going to focus on Grace and Abby.
