There is a little difference. However they can be both. Neocon primarily a Democrat such as Scoop Jackson that supported U.S.
Supremacy around the world sided with most republicans at the end and after the Vietnam War after the fall of the Soviet Union. They really adhere to the Wolfowitz Doctrine. this group applies political pressure on fellow Politicians to support interventionalist wars around the world. This is where they become Zionist. They think that the Pro Israeli ideology of the expansion of greater Israel supports their cause. They are like cousins. Their is theological Zionism as well, that I see as a heretical theology.
