paragraph that this is basically a non-issue that has been politicized to polarize people, so I'll answer.
No, I don't think in this case she/him/it should be allowed to take a spot on the team and scholarship away from a woman. However, the ire shouldn't be with the trans person attempting to do that. It should be with San Jose State's athletic department or the NCAA for allowing it to happen. It shouldn't be up to the a political figure to decide what is right and wrong in various sports leagues throughout the country.
Edit: I should add that ire toward the trans person for targeting and trying to hurt people is a different story.
