I actually watched the series mainly because it was based in NW Missouri. If you didn't watch it basically it's a lot of different types of drama with the men and women and the McBee's and staving off financial ruin. That being said, they were either spending time in a rather luxurious looking apartment in Nashville or one of their multiple houses or apartments they owned flying around in a helicopter. A lot of the show also focused on how they felt like victims because the community hated them out of jealousy of their success. Would appear that success is largely based on fraud.
I do wonder how many other farmers commit crop insurance fraud, sure helps to have cattle i assume. Just keep some of your harvest for your cattle and claim low yields is how i assume they do it. That might explain why when i drive all over rural Nebraska is see so many brand new looking 6,000 plus square foot homes on farms.
