Mizzou and it is not even particularly close. Gates is a far and away better coach, especially at this age. The same people here will tell you Quin was a terrible coach. The same coach that won NBA D-League coach of the year and has been a finalist for NBA coach of the year multiple times. People look at small sample sizes and making sweeping generalizations.
You can take your argument and make the same assumptions about Kim Andersoon winning the D2 championship. It has been widely reported that he would just "out-athlete" the competition and it was not that he out coached anyone.
Gates needs a Frank Haith type of assistant to get the offense flowing. Defensively out scheme does not allow us to close out or secure a lot of boards, but that will come in time.
