Dennis Gates isn't Steve Kerr and never will be. Gates seems to think the correct way to coach a team is by throwing them all in together, check for +/- stats in box score the next morning.
I don't expect any coach to know the strengths and weaknesses of his team by the third game, but I expect him to show a direction he wants his side to go. Gates strategy isn't 'position less' it's chaos.
