gas is a global commodity. America can only produce alot if prices are high, because the cheap, just suck it out of the ground oil is way past peak production. The higher priced shale oil is still relatively plentiful.
The more green policy the less need for oil , and as even someone as stupid as you SHOULD know, less demand means less price.
