cover for not picking Shapiro for VP for this reason. I don't think he wanted it. Why would he? As things stand now, he is a prime dem contender for 2028, From a key battleground state, against people like Newsom, Whitmer, etc. He has to love that.
If he ran with Kamala, one of the following was the reality:
- Kamala gets beaten and he gets coated with that stank.
- Kamala wins and he has to play second fiddle to a nitwit.
- Either they lose in 2028 and he then has to sit out until the next election, or he becomes a two-term VP and then has to convince the public to elect a dem for a their term (hard to do.)
He wanted no part of this race. His eyes are fixed on 2028 and he is one of the 2 or 3 lead contenders at this point.
