in the country are Oregon and Indiana.
Oregon has a cakewalk remaining.
Indiana has to play Ohio State and if they win that game we have a B1G leading the way into the CFP.
Previous SEC guidance on scheduling is now officially fubar.
Select four cupcakes, three at the beginning of the season and one somewhere near the end - then prove yourself in your eight conference matchups.
NEVER schedule B1G, ACC or Big 12 programs in your cupcake matchups, because there is no reason to 'prove yourself' against other conferences.
Georgia and Texas are the best teams in the country and they may have to get into the CFP with two losses depending on how they finish.
The SEC is tough, so tough that it may knock several of it's own teams out of the CFP while the upper echelon of the other conferences beat up lesser competition in those conferences...
P.S.
I forgot about Miami, who also have a cakewalk to the finish line. If Oregon, Indiana & Miami all make the CFP, but 'Bama does not, what more proof do we need that the SEC is materially hurting it's own CFP chances.
This is also why a 24-team playoff is just better - early round games where a two loss 'Bama mows down one-loss teams from the ACC or Big 12 are most welcome, but under a 12-team playoff, those games never happen...
