7 matches on tap, everyone playing except for Mizzou, we have the off day after the big upset at Texas, as we prepare for a critical 3 match homestand.
Matches to watch:
Oklahoma at Texas
OU has a solid team and is on the bubble now for an NCAA bid. But I couldn’t think of a worse time for any team to go into Austin. They are going to be angry and focused, should win this easily. It’s inconceivable to think of them losing 3 straight at home. But with some of the crazy results this year you never know.
Auburn at Arkansas
2 teams both on 5 match losing streaks, Arky needs this one a little worse, as right now they would miss the NCAA tourney.
Tennessee at SC
Two bubble teams at this point. Both have 5 conference losses already. In fact, after the top 5 teams in the SEC, there are a remarkable 9 teams bunched together with 5-6 losses each.
Miss St at TAMU and Ole Miss at Florida
TAMU and Florida are both 6-3, tied for 4th in the conference behind us, Texas and Kentucky in a 3 way tie for first place. Neither can afford to slip up at home today. If either of these is close at all I’d expect it to be Ole Miss at Florida. Still, both home teams should win and move to 7-3 in conference play.
Kentucky at Georgia
Kentucky has a crazy schedule, this is their 5th straight road match, that’s just ridiculous. They won the first 4, against mostly lesser teams, and they should cruise in this one. Then they have 5 straight home matches, including a big one with TAMU, before closing the season against us in Columbia the day before Thanksgiving. They should finish anywhere from 12-4 to 14-2 in SEC play depending on the matches with us and TAMU.
