Without big plays the offense is mediocre

I think that's true for last year as well. Cook is good for what he's asked to do: Not turn the ball over, make the safe play, scramble to make things happen. But long sustained drives are hard for any college program but it seems especially hard for Mizzou. It certainly didn't help that Noel and Mookie (who has bailed out Cook a lot over the past two years with great catches) were out against Bama.
All that said, I think this is on Moore and Drink to fix. Mizzou has 2 NFL caliber WRs starting. It has a very good TE in Norfleet, along with quality RBs and some good young receivers (Johnson, Miller, etc). Yet the offense seems incapable of generating big yard plays often. It also doesn't help that Craig (who I believe will be very good) has been missing FGs that Mevis was making. We are probably 6 pts per game down by having lost Mevis.
