But then this was the goal - originally conceived by the Bush team - to transform the Middle East from a tri-polar to a uni-polar region. W was able horrendously to take Iraq basically out of the picture. Iran remains the only power in the way of a region dominated by Israel. Pity. I have multipolarity in most all international relations. Just saying.
