games. It's headed towards at least 18 and they takeaway a preseason game.

82 games is too long for the NBA/NHL, especially with how many playoff series they have.

162 games is too long for MLB for the same reason, additional playoff rounds.

However, it's not going to change. The TV contracts are too big now.
