that the number of pure baseball fans is very small now. There are millions of fans who will watch their team if given the opportunity. But once their team is eliminated their interest is gone.

Compare that to the NFL where most of us will watch any game that is aired. Being on Prime will make comparisons difficult but I bet there were millions more people watching a bad NFL game featuring two teams with zero chance of making the playoffs than the MLB playoff game featuring some of the biggest stars in the sport.
