other groups (Hamas, Hezzbolah) and other Nation States surrounding Israel that we as Americans have a hard time understanding.
Remembering Oct 7 last year when over 1,300 Israelis were slaughtered / murdered as well as around 350 hostages taken to be used as human shields and bargaining chips is difficult to process.
The level of retribution from the Israeli's have been off the charts. I don't think leaders of Hamas envisioned this level of response. There is an old phrase F'ed around and found out (F.A.F.O) that applys here.
Virtually every leader of Hamas has been killed. I am not sure they envisioned that level of response.
Today there is significant danger of a broader war in the Middle East with greater loss of life than has been seen so far.
Prospects for peace, even a cease fire are not good.
Blood lust seems to be the currency of the day.
