Yes, the Tigers were awful... but frankly, it seemed more a result of being down 17-0 in the 1st quarter and having to play from a 3 score deficit.
And that was because of refs.
The PI flag was a huge pickup. We are talking about 3 or 7 points there.
A&M's first drive was stopped on 3rd and long and then... what do you know... offsetting flags. No play. Redo it. They complete it and score.
A&M also appeared to be blatantly holding on near every play with no call. In some cases, their o-line literally grabbing the jersey and pulling to the ground.
A&M pushing refs, no call.
The Burden TD that was called back absurdly with a fictional lineman downfield, when all of our lineman were engaged or in the vicinity of all the D-lineman when the throw was made.
At worst, we should have been down only 10-7 with the Burden touchdown.
And considering the PI call, and all the other flags and no flags... Mizzou legit probably could (should?) have had a 1st quarter lead, which makes this an entirely different game.
Instead, it was 17-0 and on the road against a good team, with the way the game was being ref'd, a comeback was going to be impossible.
I am not excusing some glaring problems on Mizzou, particular with their lines, Cook's performance, red zone challenges, maybe we prepped for the wrong QB.
But despite those areas, we still should have been right in that game 15 minutes in, and instead, the refs took us out.
Did A&M play great and deserve to win? yes.
Was that score 41-10 indicative of where the teams are truly at? Not even close IMO.
That score was aided by ridiculous officiating.
Don't fold the season just yet. We have too many offensive playmakers and all around talent. At 4-1, the entire season and every goal is still ahead of them.
And basically every SEC team has proven vulnerable, outside of Texas who we don't play.
