It all comes down to the eye test. Mizzou just does not look good in any phase. The passing game is sloppy, inconsistent and it looks to the average viewer to be sloppy and unorganized. Despite all the talk about the stable of awesome wideouts and the return of an experienced quarterback.
The defense is very basic. They do not achieve pressure to the quarterback, and they don't stop the run at near the level of last year's team.
The coaching has not achieved the kind of polished look on the field that is visible with some of the other teams that did not drop as far with one loss.
It is hard to look at Mizzou and just blame it on a bad week. They look sloppy. They take dumb penalties (lineman down field) and it honestly looked like they kind of gave up in that aTm game. That was hard to watch. In fact, so hard to watch that I went outside and worked in the yard instead of staring at that mess.
