I will grant you that. I assure you, nobody who could be described as formidable would remotely associate with Trump since at least 2020. Only the absolute dregs of society will tie themselves to him at this point.

Outside of MAGA circles Vance is also viewed largely as a joke. Not Trump level joke, but certainly not formidable.
