I don't think we can reasonably discuss cost of living increases since we don't know his exact financial situation, etc.
But how about retirees having to come out of retirement because their fixed incomes are no longer enough to cover monthly expenses?
I've been reading in the land of Fiji that many seniors are coming to grips with the fact that they may have to reenter the workforce because the county commissioners have yet again voted to raise their property taxes (I believe this is at least 6 consecutive years of significant increases).
This is not poor financial choices on their part. It's poor financial choices on the part of those who can cover their financial mismanagement by forcing others to pay for it.
