Red Zone woes and lack of deep ball might be related

If anybody out there with more knowledge of football x's and o's has a better insight please comment.

It seems to me the main reason we are not able to connect on the deep ball so far this year is our last two opponents are defending it as an absolute priority. This means our short game will be successful and it has been...until we get to the red zone and the deep ball threat is not there anymore. Defenses then all of a sudden move in and cause us problems in the last part of our drive when the deep ball is no longer the same threat.

I'm not sure how to solve it, but it seems to me our red zone problems and deep pass problems are connected.
