Was at an Icom dealer roadtrip show a few years ago to appease a rep. They were talking about their P25 product for public safety--in VHF and UHF and no trunking. I raised my hand and asked when they were going to roll out 800MHz P25 radios (it's where most of the public safety actually operates). They looked at me like I had grown another head.

They are a HAM radio company which made some VHF and UHF radios to help pay the bills. Higher tech was not their strong suit.
