It can get hot down there. I don't recall the year, but Jay Nixon was the Governor. The Tigers were hosting SEMO in an early non-con game and it was quite hot down on the field. A bit over 100 degrees. I want to say I heard someone on the bench area say it was 105. Most of the regulars chose to watch from the boxes and the sideline was fairly empty. My buddy and I were standing at the 35 enjoying the fact us two Missouri farm boys were tolerating the heat. Someone came up from behind and slapped me on the shoulder. It was the Gov. He was wearing a suit coat, as were his MSHP security guys. It was sweltering and these guys looked as cool as a cucumber. There weren't many VIPs on the sideline, so he had to visit with us.
