i had this cute german shep pup who visited me in the orderly room every day. during tet, he was under the desk looking up at me with big brown eyes bemoaning the shelling. i called him "patton."

anyway, after a few months he was gone. mama'san told me he was likely eaten. dog was a vietnamese staple at the time.
