During the 2012 season and most of 2013 Mauk was just one of the anonymous backups hanging out on the bench. Not a big guy for a D-1 QB. Seemed to be nice quiet young man to me. My only memory of him before he subbed in for an injured Franklin late in 2013 was him posing for pictures with Tiger team truck driver and his wife at the 2012 Tennessee game in Knoxville. Otherwise, I never noticed him.
