is looking for some further insight as to why someone would voluntarily go for the trashy, prisoner look at a young age when they will have to live with that choice forever.

People jump off bridges to their death because “they want to.” Mothers kill their children because “they want to.” The inquiry goes to a little deeper question as to “why did they make that choice?”

We wouldn’t get very far in exploring human behavior if we were always satisfied with the patently obvious “because they want to.”
