tent analogy, I'm sure. Ditto for "Give them an inch and they'll take a mile." Perhaps you've heard of antlions that burrow into the sand, digging a funnel shaped hole to capture prey. They burrow in at the bottom waiting for ants & other small creatures to wander by, step over the edge and then keep sliding down the sandy funnel to their death.
All of those are pointing to the same phenomenon. People often fall into sin by small steps and pulled ever deeper into the trap of the devil, much as the victims of the ant lion. People who want to promote evil often try to lure their victims in by tiny steps. With abortion that starts with "the hard cases". We'll just do it for cases of rape or incest. Then, financial hardship, then mental hardship and so on. Pretty soon the limits are thrown off altogether. In this case killing the innocent unborn child is now being proclaimed as a 'moral good' by some.
