should have veto power over any surgeries or hormone treatments, and so should the parents.
The government should not be paying for these medical interventions and should not be mandating or encouraging insurance companies to be paying for them either.
Doctors should be consultants at the most and they should give true and accurate information about the effects upon the child of such life altering decisions and they should take full responsibility for their advice. If it turns out that they gave stupid advice and the facts were out there, but they screwed up, they should be liable for their negligence.
They should also be disclosing how much money they and the hospital are making off of any of these interventions and any other ways that they are profiting from them one way or another.
