"Political separation"?

The rural areas don't have as many people because not many people want to live there. So on a map of election results it looks like an unfair result, but by the numbers, as we saw with the above map, it's pure democracy. The candidate with the most vote, regardless of how some color coded map of the state looks, wins.
Rather than a political separation, why don't you guys just think about running better candidates that have a broader appeal? Have you considered that?
