In recent years there has not been one from a hotly contested swing state. Pence didn’t help trump win Indians, nor Harris California. You’ve got to go back to Kennedy/LBJ. Shapiro, of course, does, and it’s a state where he has deep political roots and is very popular. If he is on the ticket, they will take Pennsylvania.
