branch has oversight. They should be able to go in and look at the raw data, interviews, reports etc. in real time if they want, or go through the records and interview witnesses, including the SS, local police etc. at will.

As it stands, they have to subpoena them to testify and then they fight it out over days, giving the agencies time to delete files, work on plausible story lines and so on.

It is an absurd way to exercise oversight.
