Denny won the national championship the last time that the standing broad jump was an event in the Indoor NCAA Track and Field National Championship. Because of this win, his nickname in the Kappa Sig house was “Bullfrog”. Denny came in 4th in the Long Jump in 1965, the year that Mizzou won the Indoor NCAA Track and Field National Championship.

Denny was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings, but played only two seasons. Wehrli was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and became an All Pro.

BTW #86 Jim Juras was also a Kappa Sig and was a junior when I was a freshman pledge. Juras grew up on the Hill in St.Louis and was a graduate of old McBride High School on N Kingshighway in North St.Louis.
