The coaching staff ultimately bears responsibility for some of this but I do have hope for the future:

1) Carter and Honor were expected to up their game to where they would be a couple of the most important players--unfortunately they were not able to do so

2) Injuries to Tonje and Grill (as others have mentioned); also injuries to East at the worst possible time (like the Vandy game)

3) Vanover looked like a good transfer at the time--he was not a good fit

4) The style of play requires certain athletic skills (e.g., see Hodge) that last year's roster didn't have

4) Luck (to the extent there was any last year, it was bad luck)

Coming into this season it does appear as though the roster is a more athletic one. Hopefully it translates into better results. I will be renewing my season tickets.
