not some inherent flaw with Missouri that made it impossible to recruit at a higher level. We just needed to hire a great recruiter.
Obviously easier said than done and nil is obviously a factor, but Drink was our best (based on # of stars) before nil took off.
The number one thing that has plagued Mizzou athletics more than any other is that the university leadership did not prioritize athletics after WW2 and into the 50’s like many other schools did.
The reason places like Bama or Oklahoma have had so much more success than Mizzou is because they decided that they wanted to 70 years ago.
