Our politics is the media. As I've said, why would either party change their ways when whatever they do is rewarded by a media that never challenges them and voters continue to vote them in. There is no accountability for bullshyt politics and power hungry individuals. If the press corps held both parties and all individual politicians to the same level of scrutiny and we got back to a healthy level of distrust of our govt and not blind reliance, then you could move the needle in the direction you are advocating for.
