Trump drew down the troop to 2,500 by the time he left office (ahead of the schedule in the deal.)

The deal with the Taliban had conditions for the complete withdrawal of US troops that the Taliban failed to meet. Biden's ignored his generals and withdrew hastily and at the cost of 13 American lives.

Had Trump remained in office, the complete withdrawal from Afghanistan would have been completed without further loss of US lives.
