which Trump received has received the benefit of multiple times throughout all of his self-inflicted legal problems.

This whole "lawfare" nonsense is just an excuse for Trump to behave badly and not expect legal problems to result.

What he is now apparently supporting is going after people who used the rule of law to review his actions while President (at least in the case of the January 6 Committee). That's not right. There is no justification for going after someone like Cheney or Thompson on the basis of rule of law. It's purely out of revenge for having the temerity to examine Trump's involvement with the January 6 fiasco.
