what drives communistic thinking.
Why do you think that prices sometimes rise rapidly, often causing consumer distress and cutbacks in spending? Sometimes these cutbacks cause business to go bankrupt or close when those businesses cannot raise prices enough to cover the inflationary increases in their cost of doing business?
Why is it cyclical? Does greed go up and down?
Those advocating free markets would assert that the normal pressures of competition is what keep businesses from just raising prices to whatever levels they want. rask likes government interventions to push markets where he or the government experts think that they should be.
Which model do you think works best, the free market, or one run largely by government pressures to "do the right thing"?
