yell out Brady's name during the booing, and the perception on the sideline or wherever would be that the booing was aimed at Brady Cook.
The same perception would be true if the boos started when Brady Cook was being announced, even if the people booing were booing Drinkwitz for starting Brady instead of Horn.
fwiw, I believe someone on here did say that they specifically heard some people booing Cook. There was also a story about a student, a young girl if I recall, who had texted her mother something along the lines of feeling that they had caused some trouble by booing Brady.
In any event, from what Brady said, it felt to him like the fans were booing him.
Fortunately, things worked out well for us all in the end. Perhaps it even worked in our favor. Eli stood up for him in the media, and perhaps that helped cement a bond between him and the players. Or maybe it helped to motivate Brady, rather than discourage or rattle him.
Perhaps it will even give fans pause the next time they get frustrated with a situation and they won't lash out at a player or the coaches when they otherwise might have.
