speed police chase in 1985.
In 1985, he became embroiled in a police chase with undercover cops from St Louis PD, but was acquitted of charges after claiming he feared he was being pursued by kidnappers.
Busch was charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault. Each count carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail.
Prosecutors said Busch was trying to evade plainclothes detectives, who had believed they were chasing a drug dealer.
Defense attorney Norm London said Busch believed he was being chased by kidnappers or others who might do him harm. London said a gun found in Busch's car was properly registered to the brewery heir.
London said police violated several departmental regulations in the chase and spent three days fabricating the report used to charge Busch.
'They had to justify what was done,' London said.
