But of course the rich schools will still be able to pay more players beyond the 20 million dispersal, so they might still buy talent over and above what others can buy.
I don't think there is any agreement in general on how the funds will be split between men's and women's sports, even with Title 9 in place. Could be wrong, but more litigation to come on that probably.
Beyond that, also schools will be able to pay different players at different levels. Not sure how that will shake out: some may pay everyone the same, and them the star players will still get NIL deals.
But not to forget: for average players, this is going to be a very good thing. It might lead to a more brutal system of getting rid of players who do not perform up to standards though. Also, the transfer portal might included fewer players overall. In terms of coaches, I wonder if longer term contacts with big buy-outs will become a bit more rare.
Going to be interesting.
