PPI is a measurement in the change in price for the first commercial transaction by producers. For example, the PPI measures the change in price for a GPU sold by Nvidia (producer) to a customer (Google, Tesla, Facebook, etc). It doesn't measure the cost of production for Nvidia.
Again, this has nothing to do with alleged corporate greed.
