for falsifying business records which includes the intent to defraud. That is the first hurdle. The second hurdle is convincing the jury that Trump also falsified those business records to cover up another crime. I'm not sure what witness they brought out to talk about tax evasion, but it seems like a long shot to try to convince the jury of that crime as well.
