was much earlier than that. The West, including the U.S. has cultivated Ukrainian nationalism, since the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after WW1. The effort kicked into high gear under German occupation during WWII and got another boost from the CIA during the Cold War. However, direct military aid didn't occur until the Oboma regime in about 2010. The 2014 Maidan Color Revolution was inspired and instigated by the CIA. Oboma tasked Joe Biden with his Ukraine project. We wouldn't be where we are today if Oboma had kept his hands off of Ukraine.
