and no wonder: the algorithms tend to value cheap housing, low taxes, low crime rates, and good healthcare.

I enjoy reading the lists, but of course it is obvious that many places where people REALLY want to live are not on the list because they are too expensive. Kind of odd that Fargo and Yuma make some of these lists when they both have rather insufferable climates! I do like Las Cruces though, and it is pretty hot - but nowhere near Yuma.
